Program Overview

The Job Shadow Program is an opportunity for you to have a one day visit with an employer over Winter Break. This is a chance for you to shadow an employer, possibly an alumnus/a, to further develop your professional skills, and explore potential career fields. Employers use this program to promote their company and help in identifying future interns and/or full-time hires.

 

Requirements

  • Must have Freshmen, Sophomore or Junior status
  • Attend a Job Shadow information session; this includes sessions with other Career offices
  • Sign Student Agreement form and agree to responsibilities
  • Submit resumes for qualified postings through I-Link
  • If matched to an employer, you MUST visit the company

 

Timeline for 2016 – 2017 Winter Break

 

 Oct 17-19: Attend one Job Shadow information session
 Oct 17-30: View job shadow postings and submit resumes
 Nov 1-15: Employers rank resumes
 Nov 16: SCS runs the matches within I-Link
 Dec 1-9: SCS will notify students who have been matched
Employers and Students connect to finalize details of visit
 Jan 3-13, 2017: Job Shadow occurs
 Jan 13: Online evaluations available for students
 Feb 1: Deadline for receipt of evaluations
